Process Engineer – Manufacturing Automation

About the role

Forvia is seeking a Process Engineer to join its Manufacturing Engineering team. The role focuses on mechanical equipment for the polyurethane (PUR) process, supporting both retrofitting projects and the launch of new foaming and assembly lines.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate mechanical, automation, and robotics aspects of the PUR process.
• Lead industrial projects for line retrofits or new line implementations.
• Develop proofs of concept to drive process improvement and innovation.
• Define production line concepts together with the ME specialist team.
• Write technical specifications, prepare budgets, and oversee investment for assigned projects.
• Lead supplier relationships, launch purchase orders, and validate new equipment.
• Support commissioning, performance testing, and safety compliance of machines.
• Define and maintain standard process documentation for global deployment.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Equipment Design, Project Management, Automation or Robotics.
• 2‑5 years of experience in production, preferably automotive or PUR projects.
• Strong knowledge of PUR pouring machines, automation, robotics, tooling and Lean Manufacturing principles.
• Fluent in English and French.

Required skills

• 3D CAD software (e.g., CATIA or equivalent).
• Siemens TIA Portal for automation.
• Robotics programming and emerging AI technologies.
• Lean Manufacturing methodologies.
