Postdoctoral Researcher in Educational Science

About the role

The Centre for Research in Education (CREN) at Nantes Université seeks a postdoctoral researcher to join Theme 3 – Policies and Actors in Education and Training. The project investigates how university master’s admissions committees evaluate applicants’ social and educational trajectories, aiming to shed light on socio‑educational inequalities in higher education.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement vignette‑based experiments to capture committee decision‑making processes.
• Analyse the MonMaster database through the secure CASD data centre.
• Observe and document admissions committee meetings.
• Collaborate with the Department of Education Sciences and contribute to the Chair on Social Inclusion in Higher Education.
• Prepare research reports, academic articles, and present findings at conferences and seminars.

Required profile

• Recognised researcher in educational sociology (PhD level).
• Experience with quantitative and qualitative research methods in education.
• Ability to work autonomously while engaging with a multidisciplinary research team.

Required skills

• Proficiency in vignette methodology and database analysis.
• Strong academic writing and presentation skills.
