Multi‑Sensor Data Fusion Designer

About the role

Airbus Commercial Aircraft is seeking a Multi‑Sensor Data Fusion Designer to join its Design Office in Toulouse. You will work within the system design group responsible for Communication, Navigation, Surveillance (CNS) architectures and related technologies such as computer vision, speech‑to‑text and data fusion. The role focuses on preparing future CNS architectures and innovative services that support airline operations and Airbus business profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Define top‑level objectives and requirements for new or improved data‑fusion functions.
• Contribute to safety, verification & validation, and certification activities.
• Develop, validate and integrate algorithms that support CNS functions.
• Ensure deployment of these functions on current and future Airbus aircraft.
• Collaborate with internal centres, external academia and industrial partners to deliver projects.
• Account for project delivery on time, cost, quality and performance targets.
• Promote and develop innovative solutions.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Aeronautical or Electronics engineering (or equivalent).
• Advanced knowledge in signal processing and automatic systems.
• Strong background in algorithms such as extended Kalman filters and diagnostics.
• Experience implementing multisensor data‑fusion, state‑estimation or motion‑control algorithms.
• Proficiency in Matlab/Simulink, C/C++ or Python.
• Knowledge of navigation and surveillance systems (GNSS, ILS, RA, inertial, weather, anti‑collision) and/or image systems (camera, radar, lidar).
• Basic project‑management competencies.
• Advanced English and intermediate French.
• Eligibility for security clearance.
