Maintenance Manager (Chief Engineer) – Pre‑Opening Hotel, Paris

About the role

We are looking for a Maintenance Manager (Chief Engineer) to lead the technical side of our new four‑star hotel in Paris. This is a unique pre‑opening opportunity that will evolve into full‑time hotel engineering management once the property opens.

Key responsibilities

• Represent the hotel during construction and fit‑out, coordinating with developers, contractors, consultants and local authorities.
• Monitor installation, testing and commissioning of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire‑safety, lighting, lifts and other building systems.
• Review technical specifications, ensure compliance with regulations and hotel standards, and resolve issues before hand‑over.
• Support the creation of preventive‑maintenance schedules, asset registers and procurement of tools, spare parts and documentation.
• After opening, oversee day‑to‑day maintenance, plan and track preventive and corrective work, and supervise external service providers.
• Manage the maintenance budget, control expenses and monitor utility consumption (electricity, water, gas).
• Procure materials, maintain technical inventory and coordinate maintenance activities with other hotel departments.
• Ensure health, safety and environmental compliance across all technical operations.

Required profile

• Proven experience in hotel pre‑opening projects, construction, refurbishment or major renovation.
• Previous role as Chief Engineer or equivalent in the hospitality industry.
• Strong knowledge of local building codes and hotel operational standards.
• Ability to work closely with multidisciplinary teams and external contractors.
