Installation Engineer (Semiconductor Equipment)

About the role

Applied Materials is looking for an Installation Engineer to join its iTeam (Installation team) in the European region, supporting the installation of semiconductor production equipment mainly in Germany, Ireland, France and Italy. The team rolls in, assembles, connects and tests new systems before handing them over to the service team and customers. The position is full-time, open to junior profiles, and requires about 75% travel across Europe.

Key responsibilities

• Install equipment independently, from mechanical assembly and electrical connections to robot calibrations, including troubleshooting
• Follow checklists and procedures, ensuring correct procedures and schematics are available before work
• Test equipment with the help of senior engineers, documentation and diagnostic techniques
• Respond to factory issues by communicating with other engineers and taking part in escalation conference calls
• Take part in continuous improvement projects to shorten installation cycle time and costs
• Report status, hours worked and non-conformances accurately
• Respect the security policy and quality standards of Applied Materials and its customers

Required profile

• Master's degree with a technical background (mechanical assembly, equipment installation, maintenance, mechatronics, electronics, electrical, mechanical or similar)
• Open to junior profiles
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues during installation
• Project management skills to keep installations within budget, timeline and quality requirements
• Good English, written and spoken

Required skills

• Troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical issues
• Communication of daily pass-downs and equipment status reports
• Good knowledge of MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint)
• Ability to work autonomously
