About the role

As a Field Service Engineer for Applied Materials, you will work directly in the clean‑room of a leading semiconductor customer, maintaining and upgrading high‑precision equipment that enables next‑generation chip production.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on complex systems including electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic and gas subsystems.
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues using digital analytics, root‑cause analysis and detailed technical documentation.
• Coordinate corrective actions with local teams and international expert centres, and lead major interventions and improvement projects.
• Document interventions, produce technical reports and present findings to customers and internal stakeholders.

Required profile

• Engineering degree or Master’s in a technical field such as mechatronics, electrical engineering, automation or applied physics.
• At least one year of experience in a highly technical industrial environment.
• Strong passion for complex technologies, hands‑on problem solving and continuous learning.
• Fluent English and comfortable communicating with technical audiences at all levels.

Required skills

• Knowledge of electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic and gas systems.
• Experience with digital analytics tools for troubleshooting.
• Proficiency in reading electrical schematics, mechanical drawings and technical procedures.
• Root‑cause analysis and incident investigation capabilities.
