Ice Protection System Project Leader

About the role

Airbus Commercial Aircraft is seeking an experienced Ice Protection System Project Leader to join its design office in Toulouse. You will work with an international team on detection and protection solutions for wings, nacelles, and engines, ensuring current systems remain reliable and future programs benefit from innovative ice‑protection technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Define and evolve ice‑detection and protection systems for in‑service aircraft and upcoming programmes.
• Participate in the definition of Airbus’s SLD strategy and align projects with CS25 Appendix O requirements.
• Coordinate multi‑partner projects (state‑funded, European, self‑funded) and manage interactions with internal stakeholders and external partners such as OEMs, suppliers, and certification authorities.
• Lead internal activities, synchronising design teams, certification specialists, method and tools groups, and architecture teams.
• Collaborate closely with aerodynamics, handling qualities, structure, powerplant, air‑data, and certification engineering groups.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in the ice‑protection domain or extensive knowledge of related aerospace disciplines.
• Proven ability to lead complex engineering projects and coordinate cross‑functional teams.
• Strong understanding of aircraft certification processes, especially CS25 Appendix O.
