Ice Detection System Designer (M/F)

About the role

Airbus Commercial Aircraft is seeking an Ice Detection System Designer to join its Toulouse design office. You will work within an international, diverse team developing detection and protection solutions for wing, nacelle and engine icing.

Key responsibilities

• Define the primary ice detection operational concept and refine system requirements and architecture.
• Monitor thermal studies to guarantee detection performance and lead work‑packages with suppliers.
• Convert system architecture into specifications, oversee supplier design activities and define verification & validation strategies (modeling, wind‑tunnel tests, flight tests, etc.).
• Ensure integration and interfacing of ice detection systems with aircraft subsystems and collaborate with aerodynamics, handling qualities, performance, certification, powerplant, structure, safety and operations teams.

Required profile

• Degree in mechanical or aeronautical engineering.
• Dynamic, positive, curious, passionate and creative attitude.
• Ability to work with a high‑diversity team and strong negotiation skills in English (intermediate French desirable).
