Head of Audit – ANZ Europe SA

About the role

The Head of Audit for ANZ Europe SA will lead the internal audit function of the new European subsidiary based in Paris. Reporting to senior management, the role provides independent assurance on the risk and control environment, designs audit activities and drives the execution of the internal audit plan across the Europe & America region.

Key responsibilities

• Propose internal audit resource requirements to support institutional audit budget planning.
• Monitor progress of the assurance plan, ensuring delivery aligns with time and budget expectations.
• Review and revise audit schedules regularly to maintain flexibility and smooth execution.
• Design assurance activities that address internal audit objectives and emerging risks.
• Build constructive relationships with first- and second-line stakeholders to secure audit buy-in and drive action.
• Engage with the internal Board and senior leadership on audit findings and recommendations.
• Contribute to the broader Europe & America internal audit program and the Institutional division’s audit initiatives.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in managing and overseeing internal audit functions.
• Strong understanding of regulatory requirements, particularly the ACPR “Code monétaire et financier” framework.
• Ability to design and execute comprehensive audit plans for a financial institution.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills with first- and second-line business units.
