Flight Control Laws Designer – Toulouse

About the role

Airbus Commercial Aircraft is seeking a Flight Control Laws Designer to join its Flight Control Laws team in Toulouse, France. You will work on the A400M program, creating manual and autopilot flight‑control laws that directly influence aircraft behaviour and performance.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop Flight Control Laws from preliminary concept through certification.
• Produce detailed specifications using formal tools such as SAO/SCADE.
• Deliver designs on time, meeting quality and performance targets.
• Present and justify designs to flight‑test engineers and pilots.
• Support flight‑test and simulator sessions, providing technical assistance.
• Conduct validation and verification activities and maintain proper records.
• Monitor in‑service events and contribute to continuous airworthiness actions.

Required profile

• Background in automatic control, flight physics or dynamics with engineering‑systems experience.
• Autonomous yet strong team player, detail‑oriented while keeping the big picture.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with diverse stakeholders across domains, functions and countries.
• Fluent English; French knowledge is a plus.

Required skills

• SAO/SCADE for formal specification.
• Control‑simulation tools such as Matlab and Simulink.
• Programming in Python.
• Version control with Git.
