Financial Controller – Fixed‑Term (36 months)

About the role

The Financial Controller will join INTERPOL’s Finance and Corporate Services Directorate in Lyon, reporting to the Assistant Director, Financial Affairs. This fixed‑term position (36 months) is responsible for supervising the organization’s financial records, ensuring compliance with International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS) and internal regulations, and providing technical financial advice across the agency.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and maintain accurate financial records in line with IPSAS and INTERPOL’s financial regulations.
• Implement and monitor internal controls to guarantee regulatory compliance.
• Prepare and present financial statements that reflect the organization’s financial performance.
• Provide technical financial guidance to various departments.
• Manage the external audit process, ensuring audit recommendations are implemented.
• Coordinate the audit of financial statements in accordance with IPSAS.

Required profile

• Professional experience in public‑sector finance or a comparable environment, with verifiable employment records.
• Ability to work under the supervision of the Assistant Director, Financial Affairs.
• Willingness to undergo basic security screening.
• Strong analytical and organizational capabilities.

Required skills

• Knowledge of International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS).
• Experience in financial reporting and statement preparation.
• Audit management and implementation of audit recommendations.
