Financial Controller – EU Finance Leadership

About the role

This role is a high‑impact finance leadership position within a fast‑growing international organization operating across multiple European entities. Based in France and working in a remote‑first environment, you will own financial control, reporting and accounting operations for the EU region.

Key responsibilities

• Take full responsibility for financial control, accounting operations and reporting across European entities, ensuring accuracy, completeness and regulatory compliance.
• Lead month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end closing processes, including consolidation and alignment with group reporting standards.
• Ensure compliance with Belgian GAAP and local regulations, coordinate audits and manage external auditor relationships.
• Manage and develop the accounting team (AP, AR, bank), driving operational efficiency and ownership.
• Partner with controlling teams to align financial reporting, forecasting and business performance.
• Drive continuous improvement through standardisation, automation and optimisation of financial processes and controls.
• Contribute to ERP implementation (Oracle NetSuite) by designing processes and improving financial data quality.
• Support post‑merger integration by harmonising financial processes across European entities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics.
• 8‑10+ years of experience in accounting or controlling within international, multi‑entity environments.
• Strong expertise in multi‑entity structures, financial consolidation and end‑to‑end accounting processes.
• Solid knowledge of Belgian GAAP; IFRS knowledge is a strong advantage.
• Experience with Belgian and Dutch regulatory environments is highly desirable.
• Proven track record with ERP systems, preferably Oracle NetSuite, and involvement in implementation or optimisation projects.
• Leadership experience managing and developing accounting or finance teams.
