Field Operations Specialist - Drone Demonstrations

About the role

Alta Ares builds AI-guided interceptors against drones and cruise missiles and the software platform behind them, serving NATO-aligned militaries and defence institutions. As Field Operations Specialist, you will be the operational backbone of the field demonstration team, making sure every client and partner demonstration runs smoothly, from equipment preparation to mission debrief. You support pilots, operators and engineers on the ground with logistics, site setup and breakdown, equipment upkeep and on-the-spot problem solving.

Key responsibilities

• Demonstration preparation: prepare and verify drones, ground control stations, batteries and tooling, pack into flight cases and run pre-departure checks
• Keep inventories accurate and own the operational and equipment checklists, updating them after each mission
• Organise outbound shipments and equipment returns, prepare transport documentation and coordinate with carriers and the supply chain
• Install and strike demonstration sites, support pilots during flights and act as on-site contact for ground teams, host nation staff and clients
• Monitor the fleet, carry out first-level maintenance and keep equipment mission-ready
• Handle administrative tasks such as authorisation requests, mission reports, expense claims, travel bookings and tracking tools

Required profile

• Military background or defence-sector experience (logistics, field support or operations) strongly valued
• Understanding of the defence ecosystem and commitment to national and European sovereignty
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with good physical condition for outdoor work and load carrying
• Willingness to travel frequently, including internationally and in degraded security environments, sometimes at short notice
• Professional English is mandatory; French driving licence (Permis B) is mandatory, heavy goods licence appreciated

Required skills

• Drone piloting or UAS/C-UAS experience is a plus
• Experience shipping sensitive equipment is a plus
