Engineering Manager – Software, AOCS & GNC

About the role

We are seeking an Engineering Manager to lead multidisciplinary teams responsible for software, Attitude & Orbit Control System (AOCS) and Guidance, Navigation & Control (GNC) on advanced satellite platforms. The role combines technical oversight with people management to ensure successful delivery across multiple programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Software, AOCS and GNC teams through their respective team leads.
• Oversee engineering delivery, managing schedule, budget and performance for several programmes.
• Ensure alignment and coordination between software and control/system domains.
• Provide technical guidance, drawing on deep expertise in at least one discipline.
• Support system‑level decision‑making, integration and risk management.
• Develop and mentor team leads and senior engineers.
• Contribute to hiring, organisational structure and capability growth.
• Collaborate closely with programme leadership, systems engineering and operations teams.
• Coordinate with external partners and suppliers as required.

Required profile

• Strong background in AOCS, GNC or embedded/software systems within space or other high‑reliability industries.
• Experience as a technical lead, team lead or department‑level engineer.
• Proven track record delivering complex systems from development through validation.
• Ability to work across multiple technical domains and understand system‑level interactions.
• Experience supporting project delivery, stakeholder engagement and cross‑functional collaboration.
• Prior exposure to team leadership or mentoring is advantageous.
• Experience with advanced mission profiles, autonomy or complex operations is a plus.
