Embedded Software Architect Engineer

About the role

Airbus Commercial Aircraft is seeking an Embedded Software Architect Engineer to join the Avionics & Simulation Software department in Toulouse, France. You will work on critical real‑time embedded avionics products and simulation software across all Airbus aircraft.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the technical liaison between system customers and domain experts to capture and translate needs into certifiable software requirements.
• Design and build complex software architectures, making optimal trade‑offs for technology, safety and reusability.
• Define and deploy modeling frameworks, component‑based development and Product Line Engineering strategies.
• Establish development, verification and certification approaches compliant with DO‑178B/C and DAL A‑C.
• Provide technical expertise for feasibility studies, risk assessments and drive process improvements using many‑core and high‑power computing technologies.

Required profile

• Significant professional experience in real‑time embedded software engineering and architecture within regulated environments.
• Strong knowledge of airworthiness regulations and software safety standards (DO‑178B/C, DAL A‑C).
• Practical experience with component‑based approaches, Product Line Engineering, design patterns and V‑cycle methodology.
• Hands‑on experience or familiarity with many‑core, high‑power computing, data security and system safety.
• Fluent in English and French, with excellent communication skills and adaptability in Agile environments.
