EC175 Rotor Systems Design Engineer

About the role

Airbus Helicopters is looking for an EC175 Rotor Systems engineer to join the Rotors Systems department and its design team at the Airbus Helicopter Marignane site, near Marseille and Aix-en-Provence. The role covers the design, testing, supplier follow-up and certification of the helicopter's rotor systems.

Key responsibilities

• Design: select the best architecture for the helicopter specifications, design the rotor systems from parts to assembled system and from 3D models to detailed drawings, and ensure quality and conformity of deliverables throughout product development and service life.
• Tests: ensure the quality and relevance of rotor test requests and conclusions, and support laboratory and flight tests.
• Supplier and project management: manage equipment suppliers' activities (design, qualification, documentation, industrialisation) and monitor OTD, OTC and OTQ KPIs.
• Certification: prepare certification documents (technical description, FMECA, DDP, test conclusions, maintenance documents) approved by the authority.

Required profile

• Degree (5-year level or equivalent) in mechanics, structural design and dynamics or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in aeronautics.
• Advanced English (B2 to C1) and fluent French.
• Willingness to travel to France and/or Germany.

Required skills

• General knowledge of aircraft and knowledge of mechanics (aeronautical or flight mechanic knowledge is a plus).
• CAD software, preferably CATIA V5/Surf/Composite.
• Dimensioning and analysis of composite materials.
• Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary production environment.
