Data Scientist

About the role

We are looking for a Data Scientist to join Mistral’s AI product team in Paris. You will work at the intersection of product, research and engineering, analysing user behaviour, optimizing product performance and designing data‑driven features for our AI suite.

Key responsibilities

• Define and monitor key metrics to assess AI product performance and identify improvement opportunities.
• Design and analyse experiments (A/B tests, causal inference) to validate hypotheses and guide product decisions.
• Lead end‑to‑end data‑science projects, from data collection and preprocessing to model building, evaluation and deployment.
• Evaluate model performance in training and production, detect edge cases and develop frameworks to measure user satisfaction.
• Collaborate with engineering to ensure data quality and accessibility for analytics and machine‑learning pipelines.
• Mentor peers and share best practices, depending on seniority.

Required profile

• Strong background in data analysis, statistical modelling and machine learning.
• Proven ability to deliver high‑quality results in a fast‑paced environment.
• Product‑oriented mindset with the capacity to translate technical insights for non‑technical stakeholders.
• Creative, curious and eager to explore innovative data‑driven solutions.

Required skills

• Python programming.
• SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
• Statistical modelling and experimental design, including A/B testing and causal inference.
• Machine‑learning algorithms and model deployment.
