Data Center Technician Apprentice – Paris

About the role

Microsoft’s Cloud Operations & Innovation team is looking for a motivated Data Center Technician Apprentice to join its Paris datacenter. You will work on‑site, supporting the hardware that powers services such as Azure, Office 365, Bing, Xbox and OneDrive.

Key responsibilities

• Follow datacenter policies, procedures and deadlines under the guidance of experienced technicians.
• Read and interpret Process Change Notifications (PCNs) and assess operational impact.
• Assist in preparing, installing, diagnosing, troubleshooting, replacing and de‑commissioning network, storage and server equipment while minimizing business disruption.
• Handle support tickets efficiently and become familiar with key performance indicators.
• Participate in daily safety briefings, use required Personal Protective Equipment and comply with all safety and security protocols.
• Escalate technical, safety or security incidents promptly and complete mandatory security and EHS training.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in a technical qualification (electrical, mechanical, IT or related).
• At least 18 years old.
• Authorization to work in France (EU citizenship or valid residence permit).
• Proficiency in English (written and spoken).

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of computer hardware and components.
• Familiarity with network, storage and server equipment.
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, climbing and working in a datacenter environment.
