Data Analyst Power Market Internship – Paris

About the role

Join Qair’s Energy Management team in Paris as a Power Market Data Analyst intern. You will transform raw market data into actionable insights that support the development of a new electricity trading activity, covering forward and day‑ahead markets.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, structure, and validate market data such as prices, volumes, generation, consumption, and weather.
• Produce regular analyses on intraday, spot, and forward market dynamics, including liquidity, volatility, spreads and patterns.
• Design and maintain dashboards and reporting tools for trading teams.
• Identify market opportunities or anomalies and contribute to performance measurement of trading strategies (PnL, risks, KPIs).
• Participate in continuous improvement of data tools, focusing on quality, automation and visualisation.
• Collaborate with trading and IT teams to integrate analyses into existing platforms (ETRM, EMS, BI).
• Develop pricing tools for PPAs, supply contracts and renewable asset aggregation.

Required profile

• Strong analytical mindset with rigor in data processing.
• Ability to work autonomously, be proactive and prioritize tasks in a low‑structure environment.
• Interest in electricity markets and short‑term price formation mechanisms.

Required skills

• Python (pandas, numpy) for data analysis.
• SQL for data manipulation.
• Data visualisation tools such as Power BI, Tableau or equivalent.
• Experience handling large datasets.
