Corporate Governance Research Analyst - French Markets

About the role

ISS STOXX is looking for a Research Analyst to join its Corporate Governance Research team covering the French markets. As part of the French ISS STOXX Benchmark Research team, you will deepen your expertise in a dynamic environment, working on capital markets, corporate structures and shareholder governance. The role suits candidates interested in how corporate bodies interact, how governance frameworks are assessed by stakeholders, and how proxy votes are recommended.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze corporate governance data, financial and extra-financial information to produce detailed reports on French-listed companies based on the ISS voting policy.
• Provide clients with vote recommendations on shareholders' meeting agenda items.
• Engage with issuers about shareholders' general meetings.
• Answer internal and external questions on proxy reports.
• Contribute to regular research papers and to the development of ISS STOXX Corporate Governance policies.
• Build expertise on the French market in corporate governance, investment and shareholders' rights and expectations.
• Engage with internal and external stakeholders.

Required profile

• Good understanding of finance, capital markets and corporate governance, ideally with first experience in corporate governance.
• Master's degree in Law, Finance, Economics or Political Sciences.
• Fluent French and English (C1 and above), able to read highly technical governance and law documents in both languages.
• Strong oral and written communication, independent research and initiative-taking skills.
• Flexibility to work extended hours, weekends and under tight deadlines during the proxy season (peak in April-May).
