Central Operations Director – Field Service Organisation

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Central Operations Director to lead its growing Field Service Organisation across Europe. Reporting to the Regional SPO Head, the role will drive operational alignment, communication and strategic program execution for the FSO teams during a period of significant growth.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Central Operations team and provide strategic focus for the AGS FSO.
• Develop, quality‑check and deliver quarterly operational reports with actionable insights.
• Drive implementation of operational objectives, ensuring SPO KPI and productivity targets are met.
• Manage headcount for Customer Engineers, Field Managers and Site Operations Administrators.
• Own operational performance outcomes such as gross margin, engineer utilisation and productivity, initiating corrective actions as needed.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams regionally and globally to support decision‑making and change management.
• Define project and program objectives, milestones and resource plans to enable effective execution.
• Ensure compliance with company policies on documentation, confidentiality and safety.

Required profile

• Proven ability to influence and act as a change agent while driving continuous improvement.
• People‑management experience with field‑operations knowledge and understanding of service business financial fundamentals.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, disciplined and responsive.
• Strong project‑management capability to lead multiple global projects.
• Data‑driven decision‑making using analytics.
• Solution‑oriented approach to ambiguous, complex projects.
• Field Service experience at Applied Materials is preferred.
