Category Manager - Supply Chain & Industrial Purchasing

About the role

L-Acoustics, a European manufacturer of professional sound systems, is looking for a Category Manager within its Indirect Purchasing team in Massy. The role covers a strategic indirect purchasing scope: supply chain categories such as transport, warehousing and logistics services, and industrial site spend including equipment, CAPEX machinery, automation solutions, technical services and site investment projects.

Key responsibilities

• Define and run purchasing strategies for each category, including sourcing analysis, supplier selection criteria and specification work
• Lead tenders, supplier assessments and contract negotiations, and track total cost of ownership
• Maintain accurate purchasing data in the ERP (Microsoft Dynamics 365)
• Steer category roadmaps and procurement performance (savings, cost avoidance) and benchmark market trends
• Manage supplier relationships, conduct business reviews and oversee the contract lifecycle
• Improve the procure-to-pay process, from purchase requisition validation to purchase orders

Required profile

• Master's degree in Business, Engineering, Procurement, Supply Chain or a related field
• 8+ years of indirect purchasing experience, with significant exposure to supply chain and/or industrial purchasing in a manufacturing or industrial setting
• Proven sourcing project experience and strong negotiation and supplier management skills
• Fluent English and French; other languages are a plus

• Analytical thinking and stakeholder management
• Knowledge of purchasing processes and ERP tools (Dynamics 365 appreciated)
• Ability to assess technical, operational and commercial proposals
