Backend Developer – Platform & Infrastructure Engineer

About the role

Our client is looking for an experienced Backend Developer to join a fast‑growing technology team. The role focuses on building and maintaining large‑scale online systems, ensuring they are reliable, performant and highly available. You will work at the intersection of software development and infrastructure, supporting production environments while creating tools that improve operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain internal monitoring and observability solutions for real‑time system visibility.
• Support and maintain production environments, including application servers, databases and related infrastructure.
• Monitor, troubleshoot and optimise platform performance to guarantee reliability and scalability.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to implement metrics, enhance operational visibility and optimise resource utilisation.
• Contribute to capacity planning, performance tuning and infrastructure improvements.
• Develop and maintain internal web‑based tools and administrative applications with responsive user interfaces.
• Work with stakeholders to identify workflow automation opportunities and drive process improvements.

Required profile

• Approximately 6+ years of professional software development experience.
• Proven experience supporting production systems, online services or high‑availability applications.
• Comfortable working in fast‑paced technology environments and Linux command‑line.
• Strong engineering fundamentals, adaptability and systems‑thinking mindset.

Required skills

• Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, Go).
• Linux environment and command‑line expertise.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and/or NoSQL databases, including design and performance tuning.
• Familiarity with front‑end frameworks and web technologies (e.g., React, Angular).
• Understanding of cloud computing concepts such as networking, virtualization, scalability and storage.
• Experience with monitoring, observability and automation tools.
