Aviation Safety Engineer – Manufacturing Engineering

About the role

Airbus Commercial Aircraft is seeking an Aviation Safety Engineer to join the Manufacturing Engineering Technical Authority and Security department in Toulouse, France. You will contribute to the development and implementation of the central Safety Management System (SMS) across all Production Organisation Approval (POA) areas, helping to detect, mitigate and resolve systemic aviation risks.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and resolve SMS cases in line with safety production management processes.
• Support compliance demonstrations during internal audits and EASA reviews.
• Coordinate SMS implementation steps and local action plans across manufacturing plants, final assembly lines and business units.
• Lead awareness and communication campaigns on aviation safety standards for shop‑floor teams.
• Consolidate SMS data to produce operational visualisations and executive reports.

Required profile

• Proven experience in Safety Management Systems case resolution within an industrial production environment.
• Strong background in manufacturing engineering processes and POA regulatory frameworks.
• Practical training or operational experience as a Safety Item Manager (SIM) with SARI tracking methodology.
