Applied Science Intern

About the role

Datadog is looking for an Applied Science Intern to join a cross-functional team of engineers and applied scientists building AI-powered features on its observability platform. You will help improve machine learning models, develop new AI capabilities and bring research into production, working with engineering and product partners. The internship is a 6-month programme starting in February, March, April, May or June 2027.

Key responsibilities

• Research and benchmark state-of-the-art models to design solutions for AI use cases
• Build scalable product features using generative AI, machine learning algorithms and statistical techniques
• Help develop, deploy, monitor and maintain production AI models, services and infrastructure
• Analyze large-scale observability data flowing through Datadog systems
• Share technical knowledge by presenting recent academic research and exploring emerging model architectures
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to productionize AI solutions and deliver customer-facing features

Required profile

• Graduating in 2027 with a degree in Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Statistics, Computer Science or a related field
• Experience building machine learning models through coursework, research, internships or personal projects
• Strong interest in AI, machine learning and data-driven product development
• Available to start a 6-month internship in February to June 2027

Required skills

• Strong programming skills and eagerness to learn new languages and technologies
• Ability to explain complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
