Application Engineer – Flexible Packaging for Hard Cheese

About the role

This newly created position sits at the crossroads of research & development, sales and the customer, acting as the technical bridge between flexible packaging materials and hard‑cheese production lines across Europe. The role is fully remote, with extensive travel to customer sites to ensure successful product implementation.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct on‑site packaging line audits and assess material‑machine compatibility for hard‑cheese producers.
• Diagnose and resolve application issues on horizontal flow‑pack (HFFS), vertical form‑fill‑seal (VFFS) and pouch‑making equipment.
• Support product qualifications, trials and scale‑ups at customer facilities.
• Build trusted technical relationships with major hard‑cheese manufacturers across EMEA.
• Feed customer and market insights back to R&D and product management teams.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in application engineering, technical sales or a similar role within flexible packaging.
• Hands‑on experience with HFFS, VFFS or pouch‑making machinery.
• Background in cheese or dairy packaging, preferably hard cheese.
• Strong knowledge of polymer‑based substrates (film/flexible materials).
• Comfortable working autonomously in a remote setting and travelling up to 50% of the time.
