Transmission System Design Responsible (f/m)

About the role

Airbus Helicopters is seeking a Transmission System Design Responsible to join the Transmission Design & Dynamic Systems Architecture department in Marignane, France. You will lead the definition and development of transmission systems for the entire helicopter fleet, ensuring performance, reliability and certification compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Define technical objectives and write specifications for transmission systems.
• Oversee detailed design, ensuring compliance with performance, manufacturing, assembly and reliability requirements.
• Plan, request and follow up flight and bench tests, analyse results and close test loops.
• Prepare certification documentation and interact with EASA for approvals.
• Coordinate with internal entities (stress analysis, quality, production, labs, flight tests, configuration, airworthiness) and external suppliers.

Required profile

• 5‑year degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering.
• First experience in the aeronautical domain or gearbox design is a plus.
• Strong synthesis and rigorous approach.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Advanced English and negotiation‑level French; German is a plus.
