About the role
The Recreation Superintendent – Sports Activities leads the Parks and Recreation Department’s athletic programming. This role oversees community‑based sports leagues, tournaments, and related services for youth and adults.
Key responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise citywide athletic programs, including youth and adult leagues and tournaments.
- Maximize utilization of municipal athletic facilities through internal programming and external rentals.
- Ensure fields and facilities are prepared and ready for scheduled activities.
- Deliver an excellent customer experience for participants and renters.
- Work flexible schedules, including evenings and weekends, as required.
Required profile
- Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience in recreation or sports programming.
- Ability to manage a team and coordinate multiple leagues and events simultaneously.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Willingness to work alternative hours, including nights and weekends.
