Software Engineer – Drivers & Virtualization

About the role

Arago is looking for a Drivers & Virtualization Engineer to own the host‑facing software boundary of its AI accelerator. You will ensure the hardware is accessible, secure, and high‑performing across bare‑metal, virtualized, and cloud environments.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain high‑performance Linux kernel drivers for Arago’s proprietary accelerator.
• Implement communication protocols and virtual device interfaces bridging hardware and software.
• Manage low‑level interactions such as PCIe, DMA, MMIO, and interrupt handling.
• Enable seamless virtualized access using QEMU and KVM, including device sharing, passthrough, and isolation.
• Guarantee security through strict memory protection and resource isolation.
• Debug complex failures spanning hardware, kernel, hypervisor, and guest OS.
• Support scaling from single‑device to large‑scale multi‑device deployments.

Required profile

• Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• Strong grasp of OS internals, especially kernel memory management and I/O paths.
• Proven hands‑on experience with Linux kernel driver development.
• Solid understanding of virtualization fundamentals (KVM, hypervisors).
• Experience with QEMU internals or custom device models.
• Fluent English; French is a plus.
