R&T Project Operations Manager – Operations Excellence

About the role

Airbus Defence and Space is seeking a R&T Project Operations Manager to join the R&T Operations team in Elancourt, France. The role is responsible for driving operational excellence, standardising project governance and managing contracts to ensure seamless execution of research and technology projects.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate project initiation by defining Scope of Work, Project Data Sheet and UP‑DEV documentation and coach Project Managers.
• Support Technology Domain Managers and Program Managers in project execution, monitoring milestones, deliverables and quality standards.
• Manage operational budgets, public/CTO funding, and produce accurate bottom‑up forecasts.
• Coordinate Technology Readiness Level (TRL) review plans, ensure compliance and track actions.
• Maintain and optimise digital tools such as JIRA, Qlik, Google Suite and UP‑DEV, and produce monthly KPI reports.
• Oversee contract execution from kick‑off to financial closure, handling administrative, financial and risk aspects.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of proven Project Management experience with a Master’s degree in Engineering, Project Management or related field.
• Proficiency in MS Office and Google Workspace; hands‑on experience with UP‑DEV, JIRA and Qlik.
• Fluent English at negotiation level; French is a plus; strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
