Legal Counsel – Compliance (Group)

About the role

As a Group Legal Counsel – Compliance you will join Nexans' international Legal & Compliance function, reporting to the Group Compliance Director. You will help shape and implement the global compliance programme across anti‑bribery, competition law and trade & sanctions, working closely with business groups and regional legal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, deploy and continuously improve Nexans’ global compliance framework in the areas of anti‑corruption, competition law and export controls.
• Coordinate compliance training, awareness campaigns and flagship events such as Compliance Week.
• Design, implement and monitor compliance controls, processes and governance tools.
• Provide day‑to‑day advisory to business units on compliance‑related matters.
• Support third‑party due‑diligence, including agents, distributors and other partners.
• Collaborate with Group, Regional and Business Group Legal & Compliance teams to ensure consistent global rollout.

Required profile

• Approximately 8 years of experience in compliance, legal or regulatory roles within an international environment.
• Strong knowledge of anti‑bribery & corruption, competition law and trade sanctions.
• Excellent organisational abilities and capacity to manage multiple priorities.
• Business‑oriented mindset with strong communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Fluent French and strong English; additional language is a plus.

Required skills

• In‑depth understanding of anti‑bribery, competition law and export‑control regulations.
• Experience designing and delivering compliance training programmes.
• Ability to draft and review compliance policies and procedures.
