GNC Engineer (Guidance, Navigation & Control)

About the role

Alta Ares is developing AI‑guided interceptors for air‑defence missions. As a GNC Engineer you will design, implement and validate the guidance, navigation and control algorithms that enable autonomous aerial platforms to operate safely in contested environments.

Key responsibilities

• Design and improve GNC algorithms for autonomous drones and interceptors.
• Develop and maintain flight‑dynamics and vehicle models using MATLAB/Simulink.
• Integrate and tune GNC software on target hardware platforms.
• Participate in flight‑test campaigns, analyse flight data and resolve anomalies.
• Collaborate with software, AI, systems engineers, test pilots and operators to validate solutions in real‑world conditions.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in guidance, navigation, control, flight control, robotics or autonomous systems.
• Strong analytical skills, engineering rigor and ability to work autonomously in a fast‑paced environment.
• Motivation to take part in field testing and work directly on deployed systems.
