About the role
The PhD focuses on developing silicon‑photonic architectures to perform large‑scale General Matrix Multiplication (GEMM) for AI workloads, aiming at scalable, energy‑efficient hardware accelerators.
Key responsibilities
- Design and evaluate silicon‑photonic architectures for efficient GEMM operations.
- Develop system‑level benchmarking and evaluation methodologies within a DTCO/SDTCO framework.
- Address electronic‑photonic interface circuit design, including control, PCM programming, and optical‑to‑electrical readout.
Required profile
- Hold or be about to obtain an MSc in Electronics Engineering, Photonics, or Computer Engineering.
- Strong background in computer architecture, integrated circuits, or photonic systems.
Required skills
- Knowledge of AI hardware accelerators and in‑memory computing.
- Familiarity with silicon photonics and phase‑change materials.
