About the role

The PhD focuses on developing silicon‑photonic architectures to perform large‑scale General Matrix Multiplication (GEMM) for AI workloads, aiming at scalable, energy‑efficient hardware accelerators.

Key responsibilities

Design and evaluate silicon‑photonic architectures for efficient GEMM operations.
Develop system‑level benchmarking and evaluation methodologies within a DTCO/SDTCO framework.
Address electronic‑photonic interface circuit design, including control, PCM programming, and optical‑to‑electrical readout.

Required profile

Hold or be about to obtain an MSc in Electronics Engineering, Photonics, or Computer Engineering.
Strong background in computer architecture, integrated circuits, or photonic systems.

Required skills

Knowledge of AI hardware accelerators and in‑memory computing.
Familiarity with silicon photonics and phase‑change materials.
