Head of Finance (Finance Manager) – International MedTech Startup

About the role

Sim&Cure, a fast‑growing French MedTech startup, is looking for a hands‑on Head of Finance to own its financial operations and support international expansion. You will act as a strategic partner to the CEO while ensuring day‑to‑day financial health.

Key responsibilities

• Manage monthly, quarterly and annual closing processes and coordinate data consolidation between the French HQ and the US subsidiary.
• Drive budgeting, perform monthly variance analysis (budget vs. actual) and report results to the CEO and Board.
• Oversee cash flow, working‑capital optimisation and relationships with banks, public institutions (BPI, European funds) and investors.
• Prepare documentation for fundraising or non‑dilutive financing and manage the Crédit Impôt Recherche (CIR) claim.
• Optimize internal tools (Pennylane, Odoo, Salesforce, Agicap, QuickBooks, Payhawk, Payfit, Deel) to automate low‑value tasks.
• Liaise with external auditors and tax advisors, and ensure compliance of commercial contracts in the MedTech space.
• Partner with Sales and Operations to track KPIs, improve ROI and provide financial insights for strategic decisions.
• Lead a small finance team (Accountant and Accounting Manager).

Required profile

• 6‑10 years of finance experience, preferably a mix of Big‑4 audit and operational finance in a fast‑growing startup or SME.
• Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Business.
• Fluent in French and English for daily interaction with international subsidiaries and partners.
