Senior Packaging Engineer – Wiring Harness 3D

About the role

Volvo Group is looking for a Senior Packaging Engineer to join the Electrical team in the EMD Business Unit. You will focus on the design, packaging and integration of truck wiring harnesses, ensuring they are reliable, producible and cost‑effective.

Key responsibilities

• Define wire‑harness packaging, routing and attachment strategies.
• Coordinate CAD design activities using Catia and/or Creo, collaborating with wiring engineers, core teams and colleagues in Bangalore.
• Work with plants and suppliers to introduce cost‑effective, easy‑to‑install harness solutions.
• Support current and new production design projects.
• Analyse and resolve issues related to harness performance and installation.
• Ensure truck wire harnesses connect all devices reliably and meet producibility standards.

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or a comparable technical background.
• Experience with Catia and/or Creo.
• Background in automotive electrical architectures and cable design.
• Professional proficiency in written and spoken English.
• Technical curiosity, strong communication skills and ability to work autonomously on multiple projects.
• Willingness to operate in a reactive, agile team environment.
• Mechanical engineers interested in developing wiring‑harness expertise are also welcome.
