Senior Buyer – Transport & Logistics

About the role

As a Senior Buyer specializing in Transport and Logistics, you will lead strategic sourcing for inbound parts transport and outbound vehicle distribution across multiple modes. You will use data‑driven analysis and AI‑enabled tools to drive cost efficiency, service excellence, and operational performance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead strategic sourcing activities for inbound parts transport and outbound finished‑vehicle distribution across road, rail, and intermodal modes.
• Manage end‑to‑end RFQ/RFI processes in collaboration with internal stakeholders, using analytical insights and digital tools to negotiate competitive contracts.
• Leverage Artificial Intelligence and advanced analytics to enhance market intelligence, supplier evaluation, cost modelling, and decision‑making.
• Develop, manage, and continuously optimise a strategic supplier portfolio with structured governance, KPI monitoring, and fact‑based performance reviews.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives with logistics partners, focusing on productivity, quality, service reliability, innovation, and cost optimisation.
• Ensure supplier compliance with contractual commitments, service level agreements, and performance targets while proactively identifying risks.
• Actively lead partnership development with key logistics providers to foster long‑term collaboration, transparency, and joint innovation.

Required profile

• Proven experience in transport and logistics procurement at a senior level.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and drive decisions.
• Excellent negotiation and supplier‑relationship management skills.
• Ability to balance commercial, operational, quality, legal, and financial objectives.
