Security Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Security Engineer to join a fast‑growing, globally distributed team building an advanced PostgreSQL platform for transactional, analytical, and AI‑driven workloads. The role sits at the intersection of software engineering, infrastructure, and security, embedding security practices directly into products, cloud environments, and developer workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Triage, validate, and remediate security vulnerabilities across applications, infrastructure, cloud environments, and internal systems.
• Design, develop, and maintain internal and open‑source security tools, delivering production‑grade code.
• Conduct secure code reviews, threat‑modeling, and security architecture reviews.
• Build and enhance security automation in CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure.
• Support incident response, security investigations, and compliance processes such as audits and access reviews.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to embed security best practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Investigate emerging risks, including AI‑assisted development threats, and integrate AI tools where appropriate.

Required profile

• Proven experience in software engineering, security engineering, or a hybrid of both in production environments.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving mindset with focus on scalability and automation.
• Hands‑on experience building automation, tooling, or systems that improve security posture.

Required skills

• Programming languages: Go, Python, Rust (or similar).
• Modern cloud‑native environments, containers, Kubernetes.
• CI/CD pipeline automation and security tooling.
• Secure development practices: code review, threat modeling, vulnerability management.
• Understanding of application, infrastructure, cloud, and platform security fundamentals.
