Market Operator (Fluent English)

About the role

Join the Market Operations Auction team at EPEX SPOT and help ensure the smooth execution of Europe’s power markets. You will monitor auction markets, support over 400 members, and collaborate with internal and external partners across a 24/7 environment.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor daily auction markets, publish price references and manage production incidents.
• Provide operational support to members, handle client queries and coordinate client setups.
• Coordinate with IT, Membership, Sales, the clearing house ECC and system providers to improve production processes.
• Participate in European market‑coupling operations and interact with TSOs and other power exchanges.
• Contribute to internal documentation, training modules and continuous process improvement.
• Take part in agile Scrum teams for system releases and develop new services, products and market initiatives.

Required profile

• Fluent English (both written and spoken).
• Ability to work rotational shifts, including occasional weekends after onboarding.
• Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills with internal and external partners.
