Lead Mechanical Design Engineer – Data Center HVAC

About the role

We are seeking a Lead Mechanical Design Engineer to drive the HVAC design of new data centre projects across France. You will work on the early design phase, defining system architectures, sizing installations, and ensuring technical compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Design HVAC installations for all project phases and create detailed plans and schematics.
• Define system architectures that meet client needs and project typology.
• Perform calculations, size equipment, and document selected solutions.
• Control the quality of design deliverables and coordinate with project teams.
• Monitor construction execution, support handover, and oversee final inspections (OPR).
• Conduct technical audits and ensure regulatory compliance.

Required profile

• Fluent in written and spoken English.
• Proven experience in pre‑construction HVAC design for data centres.
• Ability to validate technical choices, support project budgeting, and report to management.
• Strong communication skills for internal and external meetings.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• 3D navigation in REVIT.
• AutoCAD.
• Thermal and life‑cycle assessment (LCA) software.
• Knowledge of HVAC‑related laws, standards and regulations.
