Grants Operations Associate

About the role

Current AI’s Programs Team is building its grant programmes from the ground up. The Grants Operations Associate will set up and administer the grant management system, manage day‑to‑day grant operations, and support the VP Programs in delivering various grant modalities.

Key responsibilities

• Support the VP Programs in designing and running grant programmes (challenges, prizes, open calls, etc.).
• Set up and maintain intake forms, surveys, and open‑call processes.
• Configure and administer the grant management system, keeping data accurate and providing user support.
• Prepare grant agreements, track disbursements, and coordinate payments with the Operations team.
• Create dashboards and reports for pipeline, portfolio, board meetings, and audits.
• Maintain grantee communications, support due‑diligence reviews, and assist with reporting requirements.

Required profile

• 2‑5 years of experience in grants management, operations or a similar role.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
• Fluent in English and French, both written and spoken.
• High discretion handling confidential funder and grantee information.
• Interest in AI for the public good and comfort working in a fast‑moving, process‑building environment.

Required skills

• Experience with a grant management system.
• Strong attention to detail and critical thinking.
• Ability to review budgets, financial statements and organizational documents.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in both English and French.
