Finance & Operations Associate

About the role

Current AI is a small team building its operational systems from the ground up. This role sits at the centre of that effort, ensuring that money moves correctly, contracts are in order, records are accurate, and the team has the right tools to work efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full invoice lifecycle, process payments, and reconcile supplier and grantee transactions.
• Work with external accountants, prepare monthly budget‑versus‑actuals packs, and perform bank reconciliations.
• Prepare financial reporting packs for funders and support donor relationship management.
• Support supplier sourcing, negotiate contracts, and ensure compliance with procurement policies.
• Administer tools, subscriptions, licences, and monitor automated workflows, fixing issues as they arise.
• Screen vendors against sanctions lists, maintain data‑protection records, and assist with grantee financial due diligence.

Required profile

• 2–5 years of experience, preferably in audit, consulting, or an in‑house finance and operations role.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
• Strong attention to detail and critical thinking, with the ability to spot mismatches.
• Interest in using automation and AI tools to eliminate repetitive work.
• Fluent written and spoken English and French.
• High discretion handling confidential funder, grantee and staff information.
• Comfortable working in an organization that is still defining its processes.
