Director of Innovation & New Business – European Market Infrastructure

About the role

We are seeking a strategic leader to drive innovation and new‑business growth across European market infrastructure. Reporting to the senior leadership team, the Director will shape the organisation’s forward‑looking strategy, bridge commercial goals with technology, and act as the chief engine for growth and transformation.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute an innovation and new‑business strategy, identifying emerging revenue streams, adjacent markets and strategic partnerships across Europe.
• Lead, mentor and expand a high‑performing team covering business development, strategic analysis and account management.
• Connect commercial objectives with technology capabilities, championing cloud adoption, DevOps practices and digital transformation initiatives.
• Monitor competitive and regulatory developments, translating insights into actionable executive recommendations.
• Identify, negotiate and manage high‑value partnerships, alliances and client relationships.
• Support M&A activities by sourcing and evaluating acquisition targets or investment opportunities.
• Prepare and present strategic analyses, business cases and market assessments to the CEO, board and executive committees.
• Promote a proactive, agile leadership culture throughout the organisation.

Required profile

• Proven senior experience in business development, strategy or innovation leadership within financial services, market infrastructure, capital markets or fintech.
• Demonstrated ability to design and implement complex commercial strategies in a regulated environment.
• Strong understanding of European market infrastructure and experience leading small, high‑impact teams.
• Track record of securing new business opportunities, strategic partnerships or market‑entry initiatives.
