Chief Financial Officer (CFO) – Digital Bank

About the role

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will lead all finance activities of a digital bank, overseeing business planning, budgeting, forecasting and strategic negotiations. This senior position reports directly to the CEO and Board of Directors and is responsible for shaping the bank’s financial future.

Key responsibilities

• Drive the company’s financial planning and risk management by analysing liabilities and investments.
• Define investment strategies while managing cash and liquidity risks.
• Control fundraising plans, capital structure and ensure appropriate cash flow for operations.
• Maintain regulator relationships and ensure compliance with legal, accounting and risk policies.
• Prepare reliable current and forecast reports for senior management.
• Lead the Accounting and Finance Management Team and generate audited financial reports.

Required profile

• Proven experience as CFO, finance officer or equivalent in financial services or banking within Europe.
• In‑depth knowledge of corporate financial law, EU banking directives, IFRS 9 and bank risk‑management practices.
• Strong analytical mindset with excellent communication and leadership abilities.
• Relevant certifications such as CPA are a strong advantage.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; MBA is a plus.
