Windows System Administrator – Lille

About the role

HCLTech is looking for an experienced Windows System Administrator to join its team at a client site in Lille, Hauts‑de‑France. The role focuses on maintaining the reliability, security, and performance of Microsoft‑based server environments while supporting strategic migration and automation projects.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure and administer Windows Server operating systems and related services (AD, DNS, DHCP, GPO, etc.).
• Monitor and maintain physical and virtual servers (VMware, Hyper‑V or equivalents).
• Manage accounts and access rights via Active Directory and other directory services.
• Implement security policies, including patch management, antivirus/EDR, system hardening and backup solutions.
• Handle Level 2/3 incidents and support requests in collaboration with local and technical teams.
• Participate in infrastructure evolution projects such as migrations, new solution deployments and automation using PowerShell or deployment tools.
• Document procedures, configurations and interventions.
• Collaborate with network, security and application teams to ensure consistent, high‑quality services.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience in Windows server administration.
• Fluent in French (C1) and English.
• Willingness to work 3‑4 days onsite (hybrid work mode).
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.

Required skills

• Windows Server (latest versions) and migrations.
• Active Directory, GPO, DNS, DHCP, DFS, WSUS.
• Virtualization platforms: VMware, Hyper‑V.
• Microsoft Azure IaaS/PaaS (knowledge).
• Patch management, antivirus/EDR, system hardening.
• Backup/restore tools: Veeam, Commvault.
• PowerShell scripting.
• SCCM / Intune deployment tools.
• Monitoring tools and performance analysis.
