Transmission System Stress Engineer – Helicopter Design

About the role

Airbus Helicopters is seeking a Transmission System Stress Engineer to join its Design Office in Marignane, France. You will be responsible for ensuring the structural integrity of critical transmission components across a range of rotorcraft, from the H160 to the Racer.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and validate FEM models (Samcef) for static and fatigue analysis of transmission parts.
• Plan, execute, and interpret flight and laboratory tests to correlate simulation results.
• Prepare and defend technical substantiation documents to international aviation authorities.
• Contribute to the evolution of calculation methods and tools for next‑generation rotorcraft.

Required profile

• Degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering (minimum 5‑year level).
• At least 5 years of experience in mechanical part analysis of metallic materials, including static and fatigue assessments.
• Proven expertise with FEM software, preferably Samcef.
• Experience in crack propagation or fatigue testing is a plus.
• Advanced proficiency in French and English.
