Technical Service Manager - Refining Catalysts

About the role

Join BASF's Global FCC Technical Service team as a Technical Service Manager, supporting refinery customers with catalyst performance, additive applications, and process optimisation across Europe.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert technical support on FCC catalyst performance, troubleshooting, and refinery unit optimisation.
• Lead technical reviews, site visits, startups, turnarounds and performance assessments for customers.
• Collaborate with Commercial, R&D, Manufacturing and Product Management to drive customer retention and business growth.
• Analyse refinery data, evaluate catalysts and resolve complex FCC operating challenges.
• Support technical projects, resource planning and continuous improvement of tools, safety and quality.

Required profile

• Bachelor's, Master's or PhD in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science or related field.
• Significant experience in refining, FCC operations, catalyst technologies or process engineering.
• Proven track record of leading technical teams and delivering complex projects.
• Strong business acumen, communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time across Western and Northern Europe.
