Staff System Applications Engineer

About the role

Analog Devices is hiring a Staff System Applications Engineer in Wissous. Applications engineers bridge the company's products and its customers, helping them from architecture design through to field issues. This role focuses on multi-channel digital receivers and transmitters for phased-array, radar, electronic warfare, satellite and military communication markets.

Key responsibilities

• Design and demonstrate multi-channel digital receivers and transmitters for phased-array, radar, electronic warfare, satellite communication and military communication markets.
• Develop digital converter centric hardware and software from concept (block diagrams) through productization, using software-defined radios and systems on modules.
• Analyze signal chains using RF cascade concepts such as gain, noise figure, linearity and power.
• Work with internal applications and marketing teams to turn system requirements into next-generation product definitions.
• Guide customers through system integration, troubleshooting and testing.

Required profile

• BS degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering with 7+ years of applicable experience.
• Self-motivated, able to accept responsibility and take initiative on challenging technical problems.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills, and strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of RF, analog, digital and mixed-signal fundamentals.
• RF cascade analysis (gain, spurious, linearity, noise figure) and/or mixed-signal experience.
• Experience in phased-array, radar, electronic warfare, satellite or military communication is a plus.
• PCB design experience and exposure to PCB design tools are a plus.
• Proficiency in MATLAB, Python scripting and C/C++ is a plus.
• Access to lab diagnostic equipment (spectrum analyzer, signal generators, power supplies, oscilloscopes).

Travel is required about 10% of the time, and the shift is first shift/days. Positions requiring access to technical data may require export licensing review.
