Sourcing Order Specialist

About the role

The Sourcing Order Specialist is responsible for the end‑to‑end processing of local purchase orders, ensuring that inventory arrives on time and that supplier relationships run smoothly. Acting as the primary point of contact for local suppliers, the role handles order placement, progress tracking, lead‑time confirmation, and logistics status management.

Key responsibilities

• Process local purchase orders from placement through to delivery, monitoring progress and confirming lead times.
• Maintain regular communication with suppliers regarding order status, sample delivery, quality inspections, and any exceptions such as stock shortages or delivery delays.
• Document and file purchase contracts, keep system transaction records up to date, perform reconciliations, and support the Procurement Manager with payment term settlements.
• Compile purchase and inventory reports, monitor out‑of‑stock alerts across stores, and promptly communicate supply‑side fluctuations.

Required profile

• 1–3 years of experience in order follow‑up or procurement assistance within retail, trading, or e‑commerce environments.
• Familiarity with standard procurement SOPs and strong numerical sensitivity.
• Fluent written English; proficiency in a European local language is a plus.
• Detail‑oriented, able to work under pressure and respond quickly to logistics or delivery exceptions.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUP and pivot tables.
