Software Engineer – Backend (Java/Spring Boot)

About the role

JD.com is looking for a talented Software Engineer to join the Joybuy backend team in London. You will work on high‑traffic e‑commerce services, ensuring they are fast, reliable, secure and scalable while collaborating with a global, fast‑moving team.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain Joybuy’s backend systems using Java and Spring Boot, focusing on performance, availability and security.
• Identify technical risks early and implement control strategies for monitorability, maintainability and safe roll‑backs.
• Research, evaluate and promote new technologies and methodologies that can improve the platform.
• Explore integration opportunities between emerging technologies and the global architecture to enhance technical growth.
• Work onsite in London, collaborating closely with cross‑functional teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or a related technical field.
• At least 3 years of professional experience with Java programming and Spring Boot.
• Strong passion for clean, elegant code and continuous improvement, with an interest in open‑source projects.
• Proactive, fast learner, highly collaborative with excellent communication, analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Fluent communication skills in both Chinese and English.
